Radar Racing Avalanche XTR Review
Over the past few years, Redcat Racing has brought a wide range of vehicles from 1/16 scale up to 1/8 scale nitro.
Everybody knows the big companies in the R / C market, but I like finding smaller company labels with lesser price, quality products and good service! Redcat racing has some very tough competition that will require affordable vehicles that can be abused to compete
1/8 scale Avalanche XPR is the big dog in their line, slightly larger than the earthquake. The first impression is good. I like the broad stand and cowboy look.
Type: Type: 1/8 Monster Truck Width : 16 "
: 19.259006] Clutch
Brakes If you do not like the truck's Color or scheme, with optional body. You can at any time from your favorite hobby shop to pick up 1/8 ratio of the body! The body of the truck is intact and does not require further decals
However there is a little thing about the body of the truck, which seems to be the normal business of the Redcat line of nitro cars and trucks. You will notice that there is no engine opening, and the body is not cut to provide clearance for the exhaust outlet. Both are quick and simple things to take care of, and I'd prefer to be in my work. You'll notice that the body mounting holes are pre-drilled!
This truck is for sale as a ready-to-run (RTR) truck. This means that it is equipped with a truck that uses everything except transmitter batteries, fuel and field devices needed.
The avalanche is equipped with a 2.4GHz radio system, which is quite ample for this truck.
You will notice that Avalanche and other models in the Redcat family share its chassis. However, it benefits from larger tires, stronger impact and towers. This truck is somewhere between a small monster truck and a weedy cluster of truggy. Regardless of what you decide to call it, the avalanche looks good and should take some penalty with this design
Front suspension and steering system looks very robust. I often order one thing when I get a new truck that is a suspended part. Roles, Flip and Wheels The truck in this size is hard and not common to cartoon hubs or control arms, but the avalanche seems to be quite robust and I hope to surprise when there is no brakes.
The rest of the suspension, impact, impact plate and screw buckle meet the quality.
Now let's focus on what's gotten avalanche mobile! A big chunk. The engine from the SH engine is installed and ready to make a smile to happen! When it is time to go, you command full power from the engine, the power is transmitted to the wheels through the mass 3 shoe clutch system. This type of clutch is my favorite design. When you step on the throttle, the clutch will be hard and fast to hook, but if you slowly relax the force, it will smooth and confident to join.
Avalanche on the silencer is a tuner, it works, but there is a better pipe in there. Keep in mind that this is a truck that you can not get out of the box at this price, even all the upgrades at this price five times the price.
When you get your new avalanche, you will have to break the engine. Since this is not an article or tutorial about proper engine interruption and maintenance, I will give up "how", but let me just say this. The nitro engine rotates at high speed and has very tight tolerances and must be "worn." Follow your avalanche instructions to the letter – if you do nothing else! You will get a more durable, more reliable and higher power engine. Nuf said,
I tested most of the drives in one of my two places – the local track or the big open dirt and pasture. The truck, so aggressive looking for is begging for the sand! So I packed my new truck towards the beach and I found a variety of surfaces to drive on. I drove paved parking lots, beach sandy beaches, sand dunes near the water and sand dunes, so I got a chance to get some sick air!
With single speed transmission of the avalanche and its light weight, mountain climbing, banks and sand dunes are not challenged. Acceleration and handling is awesome for 4-wheel drive and oversized tires, avalanches are more interesting in the air
Suspensions keep the avalanche in contact with the ground, even in high-jump trucks without a tendency to bounce. The truck flew very well. When the truck is in the air, it is quite stable, and the ability to set the angle with the brakes is impressive.
Double brake is great. They're really good, praise the truck. No matter how difficult I ran, the brakes were still strong. They are also very helpful in balancing the truck in the air. When needed, push the throttle back into the brake, and the truck will help you balance the smooth landing of the 4 tires. Well, most of the time anyway. I occasionally miss this tag, but this has to be done with more drivers than the truck.
I ran from the truck for some time, I deliberately play rough. I tried to break it, so I can report how much more difficult you can expect to run the avalanche. I found a surprising tuff truck. The body was hit, and I managed to break a body-mounted column (quick fix). In short this is a very good value and a perfect truck.
I love this truck and I will continue to buy and test other Redcat vehicles, it is not without its flaws.
Avalanche can use some little things to make it into a 10! A bigger tank would be my first upgrade. A better tuning tube will be No. 2, and I prefer the adjustable type to provide more torque or more top settings. Finally, I will replace the steering gear with a higher-torque metal gear type.
Offset my upgrade list is a few of the things that make Redcat Truck my favorite – backyard crash trucks. Avalanche competes with other types of trucks at prices. The Avalanche XTR is strong and fast. It is predictable and can be driven on any surface. Not to mention Redcat has a great guarantee program on its engines and vehicles, as well as awesome customer support. I have put customer support for testing with questions and product help. I telephoned Redcat about the warranty concerns of an unrelated product and shipped a replacement part in time. I have been very happy with Redcat customer support.
Overall, the quality of Redcat products and excellent customer support made me come back. You can be sure of one thing; you'll see more reviews of Redcat products, and I plan to test many of the Redcat racing and airplanes
